The failure to achieve a sound agreement at the Copenhagen Climate Conference has rattled many people. World leaders met in Copenhagen, Denmark between December 7th and 18th to discuss the urgent matter of climate change.

The United States drafted a resolution with China, India, Brazil, and South Africa. The United States government judged it to be a “meaningful agreement,” but it was not passed unanimously and therefore not adopted, although it was “taken note of.”

Many countries were displeased with the accord.

The Global Warming of Snow?

On the front lawn, tables and trees are covered with snow.

It seems that everybody knows about global warming. It’s one of the major problems that the world is facing right now; the motivation of people who are advocates for turning this problem around is unfailing. Concern about global warming has been tremendously high in recent years, and it is not without reason. The climate is changing at an unbelievable rate, and people are correct in being concerned and caring enough to want to solve this problem.

But when you look outside your window over Ann Arbor’s wintry landscape, the streets are covered with a half-foot of snow and you have to wear five layers in order to stay warm outside. Global warming seems to be distant and insignificant in this weather.
