During registration, Emma Huntley, a senior, was hesitant to sign up for Ballroom Dance. Like many of the others who decided to take it, Emma saw it as an easy P.E. credit.
“I thought it would be really lame, but then the instructors came in and did a demo on the third floor ledge, and it was really, really awesome. It was intimidating though,” Huntley said.
The ballroom dance class at Community teaches students all different kinds of dances, like the tango and the swing. Students can take the CR, which meets during seventh block, for P.E. or art credit.
The Communicator is Community High School’s student-run print and online newspaper. Community High opened in Ann Arbor in 1972 and it is one of the original alternative high schools.
