Dear Communicator Staff members,

Congratulations!  I am looking forward to working with you next year.  We have an incredible group of talent, and I am certain that we will do our best together.

The purpose of this letter is to clarify a few things:

1. Communicator does not meet during block 7.  Typically, we will meet the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 3:30 – 9:30.  We will eat dinner together at 6:00.  I will have an exact schedule for you this Friday.  You can pick it up from me.

2. We will also meet on Fridays at lunch.

3. In addition, we will have a website where we will all post our articles.  The copy team, as well as others, will comment on the articles.  I will also post things for you to read here.  It will be a sort of virtual classroom where we can be in close contact with each other.  Art requests will most likely be posted here as well.

4. Students who are new to the class need to take Intro to Journalism during block 4.

5. Mark your calendars for MIPA camp.  It is a great opportunity to learn more about journalism and stay on a college campus.  See the website below for more details.

6. We will also be going to the Journalism Education Association and National Scholastic Press Association Fall Conference in Philadelphia.  It is a wonderful learning experience.  Save your money this summer, so you can go.  See me soon if you would like to work at the PTSO thrift shop to help pay for your trip.  It is a wonderful way to pay for it.  In the past, the trip has been as much as $500.00.  We will book tickets in September, so please prepare in advance in regards to payment.  Talk to me if you need help paying for the trip.
